Teachers work very hard to provide learning experiences that are engaging and require students to think critically, problem solve and apply their new learning. As we look at preparing our children for lifelong learning, work and citizenship, our expectations are higher. Our kids will need to be critical consumers of information, be able to collaborate, communicate and solve problems that don’t yet exist. The new assessments are more aligned with higher level thinking and problem solving.  Reading and English have traditionally and continue to be a strength in our system. Recognizing that this is a brand new test, there is no way to determine trends in student performance or look at comparable data, Cadillac Area Public Schools is focused on good teaching and learning practices and continuous improvement. We are committed to providing our students with robust learning experiences that will best prepare them for their futures.
